Dog Photographers French Bull Dog and Boston Terrier Photographer
As a professional photographer i like to diversify my work to keep things fresh and exciting. I find myself being frequently asked to photograph dogs, puppies and new children and young as a few days old. These are avenues i really love and are becoming a larger part of my business.
Of late i have been taking on a number of commissions for clients after fine art portraits of their beloved dogs and thought i would share a couple of recent images.
I offer a different style of photography to most other portrait and dog photographers i know. Wherever possible i prefer to shoot by natural light and more often than not indoors. This is especially true when photographing young puppies. To ensure my clients receive a very special service i prefer to photograph the dogs in their own environments as this tends to keep them a lot calmer and secure.
The images here are of our new soon to be arrival Yoda our Boston Terrier puppy and Major, the absolutely stunning Blue French Bull Dog who is owned by our the breeder of our new baby. The images were created in his home using window light which gives a wonderful mood to the images. The image of Yoda is in the process of being printed by our Fine Art printer and will take pride of place on our wall and i understand the image of Major is probably going to go down the same route very soon. I have a few other commissions booked in and will try to find time to share the images here.
The images were created on my trusty Nikon D3s and my new stunning Fuji X-Pro 1 . I rarely get overly excited by camera kit but i have to say the X-Pro has blown me away in the 3 weeks i have owned it. I purchased both cameras from Park Cameras in Sussex after being able to try it out for myself in the flesh and listening to the advice and suggestions of their team. I was after a light weight, high quality professional level camera that produced breathtaking image quality even at high iso settings. I will write another post about my experiences with this little gem of a camera when i get time but suffice to say that it has far exceeded my expectations in the field so far and has become a major part of my arsenal when shooting both weddings and portraits. At this stage i only have the 18mm f2 lens but will be buying the other two lenses very soon.
I have also started shooting personal work when out and about too, a big passion of mine that had taken a back step over the past few years. To say that this is a “toy” that excites me with its performance and possibilities is an understatement!
OK, here are 4 images of these beautiful dogs.
