The Savoy Wedding Photographer Gabi and Olly
I love photographing weddings in Central London. The capital offers so much to a professional wedding photographer: so many “tools and accessories” to work with!
For me its easy to jump on the train at Polegate and relax on the journey to London Victoria Station and then either use the Tube or grab a cab to the venue. I elected for the Tube on this occasion and enjoyed a short stoll along the Embankment to the Savoy.
This was my first visit to the Savoy and to say i was blown away on my arrival was an understatement! The simply stunning hotel was backed up by superb, friendly staff who made my life easy throughout the day. Shona, the wedding co-ordinator, was fantastic and ensured everything just flowed.
I went up to see Gabi in her suite for some preparation images before jumping floors to meet up with Olly and the guys. Its great to be able to cover both aspects when the wedding is in a single location.
The emotional ceremony was held in the Gondoliers Room before we popped outside by the little park for family shots and confetti. Back inside, a drinks reception followed before i went off with Gabi and Oliver for a few photographs by Buckingham Palace. A chauffeur driven Rolls Royce Phantom made life easier and the day even more special. The Palace was very busy with tourists but fortunately they gave us a couple of minutes to create some beautiful images.
Once back at the Savoy and after a few more pictures, it was time for the wedding breakfast in the Princess Ida Room.
Speeches followed before we went out into the evening, to create the very special and dramatic images in the city streets and outside the Savoy.
I slipped away after the first dance, jumping in a cab to the station.
Here are a few favourite images of a very special day.
