Birling Manor Weddings Claire and Richard
Birling Manor weddings are always a favourite of mine. The venue is so pretty and the location stunning, nestled in the South Downs just west of Eastbourne. East Dean and Friston are gorgeous villages and Birling Gap is only just down the road. Better still, i only live ten minutes away!
Claire came to me on recommendation of a past couple. I had photographed their wedding at Ashdown Park Hotel a few years ago and its always great to work on personal recommendation.
My coverage commenced at Birling Manor when Ric and his Best man Pete arrived. I had already captured some scene setting images as the venue is all about the view and location.
Then i photographed Claire arriving to be married.
The short ceremony took place in the Bardolph’s Hall and drinks followed outside. This gave me plenty of opportunity to capture a number of informal moments of the guests as they gathered together to catch up and talk about the wedding day itself.
The whole day was very relaxed, but Claire and Ric wanted a handful of family group shots taken. These took just a few minutes to complete. Then, i took the couple off for a short while to photograph them with Belle Toute looking down on them as they strolled through an open field. I also managed to create a couple of low light portraits back in the hall.
Following more drinks on the back lawn, outside the marquee, i photographed a big group shot from the bank before everyone was called inside for the wedding breakfast.
Speeches followed before the starters were served. I then took my leave and slipped away to my car.
Here are a few of my favourite images of the day.
