Peter Wins in Newcastle

Karen and i have just returned from the BPPA Awards in Newcastle.

This is the professional photography industry's equivalent of the BAFTAs where the UK's leading lights submit their top images in an attempt to pick up a prestigous title and an "Oskar". There were over 300 entries and the dinner was attended by over 350 photographers. The awards were presented by former Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley.
I was shocked and honoured to be awarded a number of "awards" throughout the evening an these are the winning images.

David Oliver in Croydon

I had the privilege of meeting and listening to David Oliver, an inspirational photographer based in Sydney, Australia yesterday.

David, who is British-born, has been a photographer that I have admired from afar for a number of years and I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed. He shared stories and images from his career. He is best known for his amazing wedding and portrait work, but I have to say that his personal work and landscapes were to highlights of the day.

I would like to thank Colin Buck and the MPA for bringing him over and David, of course, for giving us such a superb day which was far too short!

To view David’s work visit his website http://www.davidoliver.com.au/ . If you like dramatic and quirky images, you won’t be disappointed!
