Karina and David’s Wedding at Warren House, Kingston, Surrey. Its always flattering to be asked to cover the wedding of another wedding photographer. Karina and David are a special couple and they were married at the Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon, London and had a celebration at the stunning Warren House in Kingston.
I arrived early, and went straight up to the bridal suite to meet Karina’s family and got down to the initial preparation shots. Then it was off to Wimbledon to see David and be introduced to their gorgeous Hungarian Vizsla. This was a brief visit to their apartment before i checked out the church and headed back to Karina at Warren House. The light in her room was simply perfect and i was able to capture some really magical moments, as i observed and waited for the images to appear before me.
A short ten minute drive to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church beckoned where i photographed the arrivals and waited for Karina’s entrance. The church itself was simply amazing inside and out and thanks to a very relaxed priest, I was really able to capture the whole ceremony, very discreetly. Why can’t all officiants be this way?
The reception was lovely. Very relaxed and informal.
Apart from wanting a very informal and documentary approach to having their wedding photographed, Karina was keen to have some timeless, elegant portraits captured. As shooting in low light and indoors is a passion of mine, i was so pleased to discover the dramatic staircase within the house. I had about 10 minutes to produce some very special images, some of which are shared below.
After rejoining the guests on the lawn, it was time for the wedding breakfast. This was followed by some very entertaining speeches and dancing to a live band.
Shooting on my Nikon D3s, has really opened up a whole new world for me. Its stunning low light performance has enabled me to capture atmosphere within my pictures that simply wasn’t possible before. Of course, you need to be able to see the light, no matter how low, but that is why i am there!
Here are a few images from a very special day.
