Being a wedding photographer throws up all sorts of opportunities. I love covering weddings on the road and in particular love working in the West Country.
Charlotte and Ed’s weddings took place in what has to be described as a “picture postcard” village of Wellow, near Bath in Somerset. Dropping into the village i was welcomed by the most stunning vista in front of me.
St Julian’s Church has the wow factor and i checked this out before going to find Charlie and her family in the village. After covering the early preparations, i joined Ed and his team of ushers at the Hope and Anchor Pub in Midford for a few images of them together before the ceremony.
Then it was back to Charlotte for the final moments before she set off to be married. The vicar at St Julian’s was superb and so easy to work with. As ever i ensured i was almost “invisible” throughout the service and this approach helps me to capture all the important moments without causing any disruption to the proceedings.
We were then off to Ed’s family home. I have to say his parent’s house is simply stunning and was the perfect venue for the marquee reception set in their beautiful garden.
My brief was to ensure i captured some very important family photos and then to document the day, capturing as much of the atmosphere as possible. As a wedding photographer, i love story telling and the relaxed nature of the day meant i was able to indulge this passion. To the job of a wedding photographer is to create memories and family history without being over intrusive and i was able to blend in seamlessly.
The marquee looked so elegant and fresh and the many guests seemed to enjoy the fabulous meal and wine and the speeches were particularly entertaining.
Despite a threatening forecast the rain held off until just before to took my leave following the first dance.
I walked back through the village and rain knowing i had been able to produce some exciting images for Charlie and Ed and below are just a handful favourite shots from the day.
