Amy and Andrew’s Wedding at the beautiful English Wine Centre, East Sussex

I had been looking forward to covering the special day of Amy and Andrew for quite a while, after I was recommended to them by good friends.  Amy and Andrew were after a relaxed documentary approach for the bulk of the coverage, with me just blending in family photos and a few shots of them.

An added plus was that their wedding was taking place at the very pretty and friendly English Wine Centre, near Alfriston in East Sussex, which is just a couple of miles from my front door! Over the past few years it has been transformed into a terrific country wedding venue with a stunning garden to match the barn.

The ceremony was held in the barn and it was great to catch up with a face from the past, Carole Vince the registrar who i hadn’t seen for quite a while. the ceremony was lovely and relaxed and this was followed by drinks in the garden.

Despite and awful forecast and a lot of rain on the day, we were very fortunate that it held off for an hour and half, only falling again as the guests were called for the wedding breakfast. The meal was held in the marquee on the side of the barn adding a really rustic feel to the day.

I was asked to cover up to the end of the speeches and really enjoyed being a part of such a special day being held so close to home.

I thought i would share a couple of images from the day, where i used both my Nikon D3s and Fuji X-Pro 1.
