Buxted Park Church Wedding for Rachael and Joe
As a wedding photographer based near Eastbourne in East Sussex, i get to cover some wonderful weddings in the glorious south east countryside. Sussex is a county blessed with some terrific locations, churches and venues but there is always something extra special about holding a wedding at the family home.
Rachael and Joe were married at the stunning St. Margaret’s Church which is set within the grounds of the lovely Buxted Park. It was just a short drive from Rachael’s parent’s beautiful house at Blackboys. Despite some pretty awful weather in the run up to their special day, we were fortunate to be greeted by a blustery but dry and mostly fine day. This enabled the guests to enjoy and extended drinks reception outside the marquee back at the house.
Rachael looks amazing in her classically timeless wedding dress and as a couple they were simply great together in the pictures.
After the wedding breakfast we were entertained by some superb speeches that were immensely funny throughout.
The brief was to ensure the coverage was relaxed, informal and for the most part unobtrusive. I shot in my usual documentary low key manner or most of the day, happily including the requested family groups without any real fuss outside the church. This was a great wedding for using my Fuji X-Pro 1 as during the extended reception i found that my Nikon D3s drew too much attention to myself at times. Strangely, shooting on an 18mm lens on this stunning little camera, i was able to become invisible during the evening, capturing some great moments as the guests relaxed after dinner.
