Deans Place Hotel Wedding Photographer

Documentary Wedding Photographer in Sussex

I love being a documentary wedding photographer! Deans Place Hotel is right on my doorstep. Its a beautiful setting in the picturesque village of Alfriston in East Sussex, nestling in the South Downa,

As a documentary wedding photographer it was music to my ears when Audrey and Simon approached me for a relaxed, unobtrusive coverage of their special day. After a number of wet weddings of late, it was a relief to be greeted by a sunny and warm July day.

The guests had travelled from all over the world, with many family members flying in from Zimbabwe to wish the couple well and they seemed very impressed with the venue, Deans Place.

My day started off at Battle for the Audrey’s preparations and then i had a 30 minute drive across the county to Alfriston where i met up with Simon before the ceremony. The amazing weather meant the ceremony could take place outside in the pretty gardens behind the hotel. This was followed by a drinks reception on the lawns and i was asked to capture a few relaxed family group shots, which took just a minutes for me to complete.

After spending some time with Audrey and Simon creating some romantic images of them together as a married couple for the first time, the guests enjoyed a lovely meal in the Alfriston Suite that overlooks the swimming pool.

With such a lovely evening on offer everyone enjoyed sitting out on the patio before the first dance took place back in the suite. The couple danced to a performance by Simon’s dad who sang the first dance, a lovely personal touch.

Here are a few images from a special day.
