Southover Grange, Lewes Wedding Photographer
Manmi and Tom’s Wedding
As a wedding photographer, life is always varied and interesting. Many couples book me months if not years in advance, but Manami got in touch just a week or so before her wedding to Tom. During our telephone conversation, she told me that was after a discreet and very relaxed approach to her wedding photographs and my website showed images that worked for her perfectly.
The ceremony was to take place at the lovely Southover Grange Register Office, Lewes in East Sussex. The house and gardens date from the 16th century and make for an idyllic setting for a wedding photographer covering an intimate wedding.
First off, i drove to Tom’s parents’ very special home near Polegate and joined the guests on a bus journey to Lewes in readiness for the ceremony.
It was a warm and sunny day and following the formalities we travelled back to the house for a drinks reception in the magnificent gardens at the family home. At the house, many more guests joined in the celebrations in the grounds.
I was pleased to see that the wonderful Super Event had provided the marquee and catering services. They are always on the ball and offer an unbeatable quality and style every time.
My coverage was mostly low key and unobtrusive, although included a number of informal and relaxed family groupings in front of the beautiful house.
Most of my time was spent people watching, looking for moments that really bring the day to life. Its always great to be able to blend into the background of any wedding, as this allows people to “open up” in front of my camera without feeling as if they are being “invaded” by the photographer.
All of the images were created on my Nikon D3s using my 24-70 2.8 and 180 2.8 lenses. I always prefer to keep equipment choices simple and clear. Avoiding over complication of kit, allows me, as a wedding photographer, to focus clearly on the job in hand and that is to create wedding images.
