Drumtochty Castle Weddings

Drumtochty Castle Weddings

Drumtochty Castle is one of my all time favourite wedding venues in the UK. Although Drumtochty Castle in 600 miles away in Aberdeenshire, i have had the privilege of covering a couple of fantastic weddings there in the past couple of years.

Its only an hour’s flight from Gatwick Airport and as i have a few friends in the area it offers an opportunity to make a short break and catch up with these good photographers over a meal in the Aberdeen.

Anyway, i was going through the archives as i am having a tidy up of old images; checking that the hard drive back ups etc are working well (something that a lot of photographers forget about once the wedding is over and done with). This is where i came across these images from Claire and Paul’s fantastic Drumtochty Castle wedding. They were married on a drizzly April day but the weather didn’t ruin things as the castle is stunning inside!

Claire took a fantastic horse and carriage with her dad down to the church at the bottom of Drumtochty Castle’s driveway. It certainly made for a dramatic sight as she arrived at St. Palladius. Then after a beautiful ceremony, Paul and Claire were taken back to Drumtochty Castle where they enjoyed a drink reception inside the lounges before the wedding breakfast.

As ever Ewan worked tirelessly to ensure the day ran perfectly and this always makes my life easier when trying to photography a couple’s wedding day. The organisation combined with such a stunning venue is why i was so excited to photograph another wedding last August which can be seen here. In fact i loved it so much that i’ve created my top of the range sample album just to showcase my work at Drumtochty Castle.

Hoping to be back at Drumtochty Castle again very soon!

Here are a few images from Claire and Paul’s special day. The first image formed part of my successful panel for my Associateship of the British Institute of Professional Photography, which explains the differing presentation.
