Powdermills Hotel Weddings Lauren and Andrew

Powdermills Hotel weddings are always something to look forward to. I love shooting at the Powdermills Hotel in Battle, East Sussex as the setting is perfect for spring and summer weddings. With lakes at the front and to the rear of the main house, it makes for a perfect country house hotel wedding. 

Lauren and Andrew live in Australia so all the advanced planning was done over the phone and via email although it was great to finally meet them when they came over to the UK a couple of weeks prior to their big day to finalise all the finer points. They were pretty relaxed and laid back about it all which made the day itself so much more enjoyable.

As ever the day dawned with unsettled weather. The morning saw rain but when it came to the time for Lauren and Andrew to get married, the sun broke through for an hour so we were able to run the gauntlet and create a few lovely images in the grounds before  the drizzle returned just as we were making our way back to the main hotel from the bridge at the entrance.

The few family groups shots were taken under the hotel’s front porch. this meant the guests remained dry although i did get a little bit damp! 

Powdermills Hotel weddings are enhanced by the beautiful orangery restaurant. It always looks stunning and light and the food, of course is wonderful too. The speeches took place between the courses and a friend had been appointed as MC. His Aussie humour kept the guests entertained and the proceedings flowing.

I slipped away at the completion of the speeches and of course the sun came out on the short drive home!
