Grand Hotel Wedding Photography Posing and Lighting Seminar
The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is the perfect venue for a wedding, event or in this case one of my Wedding Photography Posing and Lighting Workshops. It is stunning from the outside but the real magic is inside. The Grand Hotel’s interior is like being taken back in time; its magnificent and the staff follow suit, being superb every time you visit.
My workshop was sold out relatively quickly and saw delegates coming from all over England to hear me talk about my business and my approach to working with clients and shooting weddings. In particular i was demonstrating how to create stunning images using natural light inside the Grand Hotel.
Becky from the Beauty Call was on hand to take care of hair and make up and she arranged for our wonderful models, Caitlin and Ollie. She even liaised with my friends at Whyte Weddings who very kindly provided a beautiful dress for Caitlin to wear. She looked amazing!
The morning section of the day, was talking about strategies i use to ensure i remain busy in these tough economic times. I shared a couple of full weddings and talked about my thought process as i shoot. Technique and equipment was also covered in depth before the staff at the Grand Hotel bought in a tasty lunch.
After checking with Becky i spent 5 minutes or so demonstrating how i might photograph the final moments of the bridal preps. We then went out into the hotel so that i could create images of Caitlin and Ollie just as i would at a real wedding. The shoot was done in slow motion as i walked the delegates through each shot before allowing them to take their own pictures using my ideas and methods. We shot in the Great Hall and in and around the Compton Room. Caitlin and Ollie were fabulous!
Then afterwards we went back into the Norfolk Room for coffee, AVs and a Q+A session. As usual i over ran by a couple of hours but everyone seemed to have a good day.
