Birling Manor Wedding Photographer Laura and Tommy’s Sussex Wedding

Birling Manor is nestled in between the South Downs on the approach to Birling Gap and the world famous Seven Sister cliffs.  The setting is idyllic.

I started the photography at the Star Inn, Alfriston where Laura and the bridesmaids were getting ready for the big day ahead. This very old inn is in the heart of the picture post card village just 15 minutes from Birling Manor. The room was challenging and dark but this is where is thrive. Looking for different and artistic images to really bring the atmosphere of the day to life.

Then i drove back to East Dean to catch up with Tommy and his best man and brother, Danny.

The ceremony took place in Bardolphs Hall set within the grounds of Birling Manor. Tommy and Laura stood up above the guests to exchange their marriage vows before returning back down the aisle to a wall of confetti,

Unfortunately the day was one of 2103’s rare windy and damp ones. However, this gave me the opportunity to create some special images inside Bardolphs Hall before everyone moved to the stunning marquee in the grounds of the Manor.

The interior of the marquee was superb. the lighting and flooring were on a different level to most i have seen throughout my career.  After dinner and some fun speeches it was time for some more informal photography and the then the dancing before i slipped away.

It was nice being only 15 minutes from home for once too as i live just a short drive over the hills.

The images in the slideshow are all captured on my Nikon D3s using natural light or my compact Metz video light.
