Worthing Dome Weddings Josie and Mark
I love something a tad different. It really gets my creativity going and when Josie contacted me about her Hollywood themed wedding at the very special Worthing Dome Cinema, i was instantly excited about the prospect of being her wedding photographer.
I started at Josie’s parent’s house in Burgess Hill, for the bridal preparations before driving to Worthing to meet Mark and take a look around the fabulous ceremony venue. The plan was to cover the wedding in my usual documentary approach but to add in creative classic hollywood style imagery using the character and architecture of the old cinema to produce a set of pictures with a real old time cinematic look.
Josie arrived in an old VW Camper Van, outside the Dome, opposite Worthing Pier. The ceremony took place up in the dome at the top of the building.
Following the marriage, we went over to the pier for family shots and then some informal couple pictures. An amazingly sunny September day added to the feel of the images.
The drinks reception and wedding breakfast took place back in the Dome. The speeches started but we had to take advantage of a short slot between films so that i could photograph Mark and Josie in the old time cinema. I used my compact video light to spot light the couple in the dark auditorium, ensuring the atmosphere was retained and enhanced.
Then it was back upstairs for the best man’s speech before the dancing could commence.
The whole day had been amazing from start to finish and i have to say that i would love to cover more Worthing Dome weddings!
