Old Rectory Wedding Photographer Laura and David

I live just 25 minutes from Hastings, East Sussex. Strangely i rarely get the pleasure of working there.  So it was with real excitement, i drove to the Old Rectory, in Hastings’ Old Town to photograph the wedding of Laura and David.

I had been booked at the very last minute and fortunately, was still available when David called. The whole idea was for a very laid back day to celebrate their marriage with very close friends and family. I have to say the venue was perfect for their plans. So friendly and welcoming and full of charm and character. At this stage i should say a big “thank you” to the team there for all their help over the two days.

Day 1 was an informal afternoon tea so that the guests could settle into the weekend, get to know each other and meet David and Laura’s little girl. I basically covered the get together very discreetly in my usual documentary style before slipping away.

Day 2 was the wedding day. The ceremony was held outside in the garden behind the Old Rectory and we were blessed with a lovely late September afternoon.

Again the majority of the photography was pure documentary, with very little interaction from me. The only exception was a few family groups which were shot on the fly.

Dinner was under an open marquee by the pond and after speeches everyone retired into the house.

The evening was a relaxed affair too. Drinks, laughter and dancing for all.

The slideshow shows a few of my favourite moments and all the images were created on my Nikon D3s.
