Michelham Priory Wedding Photographer Jo and Robin

Jo and Robin’s wedding took place deep into November. However, fortunately it was a stunningly bright day for the time of year. OK it was very cold but great for dramatic winter lighting!

I started out at Pekes Manor for the bridal preparations. What a lovely place!

I covered the getting ready shots in a documentary fashion and as they were running behind schedule, i left later than i wanted to for the short drive to Michelham Priory. The Priory is a stunning location and combined with the rare sunny weather, meant we were in for a good day.

Jo and her bridesmaids arrived in a Landrover. After an interview with the Registrars the ceremony took place in the Great Barn. This makes for a dramatic and atmospheric back drop to a wedding ceremony. Although the light was low, using my skill and fast lenses combined with my D3s, i was able to capture the mood that was created by the subdued lighting in the barn.

Drinks took place across the courtyard before i took Jo and Robin off for a few minutes for pictures of them together in the grounds. The chill and failing light meant i had to work as quickly as possible. The family group shots followed before the wedding breakfast was announced in the barn.

Following the meal, there were three speeches and then some “down time” to allow the staff at Michelham Priory to clear and prepare for the dancing.

The slideshow shows a few moments form the day including the stunning sunset and the Priory floodlit.
