BIPP Wedding Photography Awards
I have always strived to push my wedding photography to the limits and beyond. Its something i do more than ever, even after 17 years in the profession. This not only keeps me focused and fresh but offers my clients images that go way beyond the capabilities of your inexperienced wedding photographer.
I was excited to be told that i had been shortlisted for the annual South East Region British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) Wedding Photography Awards. The awards ceremony was to be held at Hartwell House near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.
So i drove up from East Sussex, last week. I dropped off into Heathrow to pick up my very good friend and talented photographer, Scott Hogg who had flown down from Aberdeen as he was up for an award as well.
On arrival at Hartwell House, we enjoyed a drinks reception with the short listed photographers, judges and other BIPP members and their sponsors. A superb three course lunch followed and this was a nice time to relax and mix with new people.
Following lunch we all moved back into the library for coffee and to hear the award winners announced.
I was delighted to be discover that one of my wedding images had been awarded a Bronze Award and was in fact the second highest scored wedding image of the year!
The image in question was of the very lovely Emma, who was married in Brighton in March. It was of her final preparations at the Drakes Hotel, before she left for the wedding ceremomy.
Taken on my Nikon D3s and without any direction from me as usual.
