Cooling Castle Barn Weddings Emma and Chris
This was a wedding i had been looking forward to covering for quite a while. I love Cooling Castle Barn as a wedding venue; it offers almost everything a couple or a wedding photographer would want in one lovely location. Better still, Emma and Chris are a lovely couple and so easy to get along with.
It was an early start to avoid any potential M25 problems and of course, by taking the safety first approach, i arrived very early. After a recee of the three locations in the area, it was time for coffee and porridge before heading to the hairdressers to start photography.
Then it was on to Emma’s Mum’s beautiful home for the final preparations before shooting off to the church.
Emma and Chris were married at Farringtons School Chapel in Chistlehurst, Kent. It was a sunny but windy day which meant the best option for all was to take the family shots inside the lovely chapel.
Following the relaxed formal shots, it was a drive to north east Kent to Cooling Castle. After some time out for drinks, i created some beautiful portraits of Emma inside the main barn, using stunning window light. I also took the time to photograph them as a couple showing the Castle turrets.
Dinner and very emotional speeches followed. The barn throws up a number of lighting challenges, but i love to go with what i have to recreate the atmosphere of the candle light,which makes for a very romantic and intimate atmosphere.
After the wedding breakfast, and despite the very chilly evening, i created some night time images before the first dance and the dancing to the live band.
The sideshow shows some favourite moments of a wonderful wedding day for Emma and Chris.
