Le Talbooth Wedding Photographer Lesley-Ann and John
The last time i had photographed a wedding at the beautiful Le Talbooth on the Essex/Suffolk border was a decade ago! Memories were still fresh in my mind of the bridge over the river framing the perfect lawns and main house. Set on Constable Country, its an idyllic setting for a wedding.
Lesley-Ann and John came to me on recommendation of another wedding photographer from the area. We had met a couple of times down here in Polegate to discuss their day and i was really excited about being a part of it.
I travelled up the afternoon before to ensure i was refreshed and close by on the Saturday morning. It was just a 20 minute drive to the Dedham and i spent a while checking out the three locations before battle commenced. Working backwards, the wedding breakfast and reception were to be held at Le Talbooth, the ceremony at Maison Talbooth and the the guys were getting ready in the middle at the lovely Milsoms Hotel.
On arrival it was a beautifully sunny morning, but unfortunately this was to change. The rain set in as Lesley-Ann arrived to be married to John at Maison. Once the ceremony was over we got a lucky break in the weather for confetti, a drive through Dedham and then on to Le Talbooth for group shots and drinks. Then the rains returned.
After a fabulous meal and entertaining speeches everyone moved to the marquee, where we were joined by over 100 additional guests for the evening. I took the opportunity to capture some relaxed images of the couple in the soft post-rain light, before going back in my usual documentary mode.
The slideshow shows a few favourite images of a great day.
