Children Photographer Sussex Emily
Its always a delight to photograph children regularly as they grow up. They change so fast and its very important to record each moment in their young lives before the mental images fade.
Emily is now 4 and it was a year since her least session here. She came to visit with her mum, Louise. Emily loves dogs so she made to time to play with our crazy but friendly pack before the camera came out.
The beauty of a portrait session taking place here is that i have a number of options readily available. The natural light is terrific and the outside space just works perfectly for a completely different look to the images.
The first images were taken in our family room, using the light from the lovely bay window. It certainly helped that Emily is a natural in front of the camera and, of course used to me having been here a couple of times before. We then moved to the “studio” room next door, where again i have some great natural light on offer.
Finally we moved to the front garden for a mood change, using a fabulous old outside door and , and of course my “grungy” shed which makes for a fantastic background for environmental portraits.
Then it was back inside for drinks and another play with the dogs!
I like to keep everything relaxed and working this way, i find allows me to bring out the characters in the children i photograph. Emily certainly seemed to enjoy the time she was here and the results back this up.
All the images were taken on my Nikon D800 and 85 1.8mm AFS lens using natural light. The slideshow shows a few favourites of mine.
