Pre Wedding Photographer East Sussex

Fiona and Paul booked me to cover their forthcoming wedding at South Lodge Hotel in October, a few months ago. They loved my artistic but natural and informal style.

Fast forward to August and they booked me to drive up to the hotel early on a Sunday morning for a pre wedding meeting and a pre wedding shoot. They felt this would help them to relax and get used to me being around on their big day.

We met up at 8am, enjoyed a coffee and a chat about their plans, before just going for a walk around the grounds of South Lodge. The images were produced with minimal direction from me. I always prefer to allow couples to be themselves where ever possible and this helps to add extra informality to the portraits i create.

I mostly shot on my Nikon D800 with my Nikon 180mm f2.8 lens with the lens wide open. This adds to the intimate feel of the imagery.

The grounds were completely devoid of guests, so we had the place totally to ourselves, which allowed the Fiona and Paul to relax during the short session. We ventured down to the pond at the bottom of the hill before strolling back up to continue our pre wedding meeting inside.

Back within South Lodge Hotel, we walked around looking for different ideas and locations for images on their wedding day. As their wedding is mid October its always a great idea to have a number of ideas in my back pocket and in any case, i love shooting inside regardless of the time of year!
