As an East Sussex Wedding and Portrait photographer, I always get excited about shooting weddings away from my local area. This is something that I have always done and this, in turn, allows me to keep fresh and inspired after 24 years of being a specialist wedding and portrait photographer. During this time I have photographed in excess of 1000 weddings and I still love my job!

I had been recommended to Kartini and Mark by a lovely long time client of mine. This was the 4th or 5th London wedding she had put my name forward for over the past 5 years. Its always good to be booked this way so thank you so much Stephanie!

The bridal preparations were at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge, a fabulous luxury hotel that I’ve been fortunate enough to work at previously. It was an amazing suite over looking Hyde Park.

It was good to be working again with Mark from the Short Film Company and I had recommended him to the couple.

This wedding was was unusual for me as I was working with a second photographer. Claire, who I have know for many years and whose wedding I shot back in 2008, is an excellent wedding photographer in her own right and she went to the couple’s house near Maida Vale for photos of the groom and his family, as I couldn’t be in the two different locations at the same time. It almost unheard of for me to work with a second as I like to be in control of what’s being taken, but Claire did a fabulous job and was brilliant to work and travel with. So this may happen in the future from time to time.

A chauffeur driven car took Mark and I to the Old Marleybone Town Hall for the intimate ceremony. Social distancing and COVID rules were strictly applied and adhered to and despite the restrictions, I managed to create to lovely memories for the couple. The actual ceremony was live streamed back to Kartini’s family in Australia who very sadly ween’t able to to travel due to the pandemic.

We left by car, travelling to the wedding lunch at the Berkeley in Knightsbridge. Another fabulous luxury hotel that I’ve had the privilege of shooting at in the past. After a brief introduction and the cutting of the wedding cake, we left the guests to enjoy lunch.

It was a brilliant day and I really enjoyed working again with Mark and, of course, Claire.
