Devon Wedding Photographer
Devon Wedding Photographer, Peter Prior is back from a long drive to the beautiful Cissbury Barns. He really enjoyed photographing the wedding of Stacey and Andrew.
As has been far too common a theme, Stacey and Andrew had postponed their wedding due to the dreaded COVID-19 Pandemic. So it was really exciting that their day had finally arrived.
They were blessed with superb weather for a March wedding. This really enabled them and their guests too enjoy all that Cissbury Barns has to offer. The whole estate offers fabulous views over the South Downs.
To quote from their website: “Cissbury Barns are a truly unique and romantic wedding venue with the WOW factor. Nestled between beautiful mature tress on the Cissbury Estate in a breath taking setting”
Just about sums the place up and coupled with the professional and friendly staff, Cissbury Barns is a place I always enjoying photographing weddings at.
Stacey got ready at the main house before driving up to the barns for the ceremony. Then followed a relaxed drinks reception on the lawn before a stunning wedding breakfast of Nepalese food. The food was to die for!
Between the speeches and the first dance, we managed to step outside to grab some beautiful sunset images in the fields behind the barns. Being high up and facing west makes them perfect for evening photography. Fortunately the weather had remained fine and the sunset was perfect.
I always love shooting in Spring and Autumn as the light is quite magical! The low angle sun certainly can be challenging but adds drama to my images.
After the first dance, I left for the long drive home. It had been a really enjoyable first wedding of the season and well worth the trip.
This blog post shares just a handful of the many superb photographs that I created from a wonderful wedding day.
